Haide Guadamuz, LPC, MT-BC
MUSIC THERAPIST | SOCIAL EVENT COORDINATOR
Haide (pronounced: Hay-dee) was born in California (Cali girl!), but raised in Texas. As a child, she had a creative mind that some would call an “overactive imagination.” Now she uses her creativity to work with others as they explore their life experiences. She has been working as a music therapist using music to connect people with themselves, their music, and the world.
Haide is working on integrating her music therapy skills with counseling. She received her bachelor’s degree in music therapy at Texas Woman’s University in 2016, where she also completed a dual Master’s degree in counseling and music therapy in 2021. She was able to complete her 6-month music therapy internship at Lewisville ISD. Her primary focus has been working with children, adolescents, and adults using a person-centered approach.
During her clinical training, Haide has gained clinical experience with the following populations:
Older patients in a hospice setting
Adults with emotional, behavioral, and traumatic experiences
Adolescents with mood, anxiety disorders, and trauma
Students with developmental disabilities
Child/teen patients in an intensive outpatient setting (IOP/PHP)
Haide completed her 1-year counseling internship in a mental health private practice. She recently completed her 3,000 required hours of training as an LPC-Associate alongside working as a music therapist in the community, and is now a fully licensed therapist (in addition to her music therapy licensure). Her hope is to integrate her counseling skills with music therapy when working with clients from all sorts of experiences!
